Afrikafestival Hertme (openluchttheater Hertme, gemeente Borne tussen Hengelo en Almelo)
Dankxij Rob Lokin (sinds 1991 de programmeur van het festival, winnaar Zilveren Anjer 2010) werd het Afrikafestival Hertme een must voor de liefhebbers van de rijkgeschakeerde muziek uit Afrika.

De eerste editie van Parkpop, het grootste gratis festival van Europa in het Haagse Zuiderpark was op de laatste zondag van juni in 1981. Sinds de allereerste uitvoering van Parkpop zorgde John van Vueren, ooit manager van de eerste Nederlandse wereldmuziekband Tiq Maya en de Haagse formatie Gruppo Sportivo met zijn bedrijf Rock In Waterland voor de programmering van dit gratis toegankelijk festival. Bezoekersaantal. Van 15.000 in 1981 tot ruim 400.000 in 1990. In 1992 kwamen er maar liefst een half miljoen mensen naar Parkpop. In 1996 is initiator John van Vueren op 44-jarige leeftijd plotseling overleden en heeft Ben van Vueren, John's broer, het bedrijf voortgezet. De voorbereidingen voor Parkpop beginnen al in de november daarvoor. De projectgroep bestaat uit vijf personen.

Africa Independent festival - 22 t/m 25 april 2010
In 2010 vieren we dat in 1960 een hele golf van staten onafhankelijk werden. Benin, Burkina Faso, de Centraal Afrikaanse Republiek, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Gabon, Ivoorkust, Madagaskar, Mali, Mauritanië, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalië, Togo en Tsjaad vieren dit jaar hun 50-jarige ‘onafhankelijkheid’. Ook vindt er dit jaar met het WK voetbal in Zuid-Afrika voor het eerst een mondiaal sportevenement plaats in Afrika, een mijlpaal in de geschiedenis van dit continent. Op de laatste dag van het Africa Independent festival presenteert Stan Rijven in RASA The African Blacklist, een lijst met hoogtepunten uit 50 jaar Afrikaanse popmuziek als reactie op de onlangs door Radio 6 gelanceerde Zwarte Lijst, waarop de Afrikaanse (en Latijns-Amerikaanse) muziek schittert door afwezigheid. L'Open Air de St-Gallen - In the Middleages the monks of the Swiss city of St.Gallen were reputated all over Europe as the Perfect Loverboys. Probably hence the name of the the place evolved from the hermitage of the 7th century San Gallo, litt. Holy Cock.

This Gallo came with twelve men from Ireland to the continent. Gallo gained fame as it was rumoured that, at his command, a bear brought wood to feed the fire which Gallo and his companions had kindled in the forest. Nicely situated between Lake Constance and the mountains of the Appenzell Alps Gallo build some cells to house him and his friends. After the Commander of Bears died. his grave developed into an abbey that played an illustrious part in Catholic sexual and intellectual history where many clerics had the times of their life. It was rumored that the abbot aquired only entries after checkin if 'the new tool' was worthy to be a novice in this very popular Abbey in a valley in the north-eastern part of Switzerland. The main tourist attraction is the nowadays a mega 3-day Open Air Festival. With about 100.000 visitors, all in 'Hammerstimmung'. After some of the best in Worldmusic and prime National and international Rock & Folk the tradition of the Swiss Monks to keep Saint Gallo's 'Leaderposition im Deutschschweizer Festivalmarkt' is kept well alive on the stamping campinggrounds, that are 'im Festival integriert'. Last year a complete sold out, from 27 till 29 June.2008.
